Course description for R10/24

Start south of Raglan rbt on unclassified road signed "Gwehelog", 100 yards south of Clearway sign opposite 3rd of three gateways. Proceed towards Usk where turn left & immediately left again WITH GREAT CARE to join A472 (4.86 miles). On A472 to junction with B4235 (signed "Chepstow 14") (5.68 miles) where turn left through Gwernesney, where bear left at fork. Continue on unclassified road via Glider Field to Cross Hands (Stop Sign) (8.61 miles) where turn left WITH GREAT CARE to proceed via Treworgan Common to: Finish at farm gate just beyond entrance to Raglan Enterprise Centre just before village – 11.03 miles

Now the Bad news, Roadworks in the last mile of the course (Bridge crossing the A449) means that the course will now be cut short, finishing at Treworgan Common, at approx 9.75 miles.  We will try to Mark 1KM to the Finish, for those un familiar with the finish.

               All riders are asked to comply with the following requests

DO NOT park or stop your car within sight of the starting or finishing timekeeper.

DO NOT leave your number flapping - four pins are supplied for each - USE THEM

DO NOT allow your friends and relations to follow you around the course - it's not allowed.

DO call your number to the finishing timekeeper or your time may not be recorded.

DO keep your head up, be aware of your surroundings and HAVE A SAFE RIDE

 

Text Box: Important Notice to all Riders
The WCA, CTT and Police all recommend the use of a good hard shell helmet manufactured to internationally recognised standards.
For ALL Riders under the age of 18 these helmets are COMPULSORY.
Marshall's will be positioned around the course they are there to show you the way, they have no authority over the traffic.  
Please be familiar with the course, so there are no surprises.   There are some fast twisty sections, particularly at about 1 mile in, 3.5 miles in and then the narrow lanes in the last 4 miles, ride with care. 
It is the Riders responsibility to ride within the laws of the road and with consideration to other road users, please do so.
